Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate new raw materials for product development and possible raw material substitution.
- Evaluate qualities of existing products and new products against competitor.
- Revise and improve qualities of existing product whenever necessary.
- Conduct research and formulate new products coordinating with sales and marketing team and Technical Manager.
- Perform physical testing on liquid properties and film properties of applied new developed product.
- Set standards for the new and existing products including the shelf life of the products.
- Design manufacturing procedure for the new developed product to train the production personnel on efficient processing.
- Supervises first production batch of new developed product to train the production personnel on efficient processing.
- Prepares samples of new developed product for customer's evaluation.
- Coordinates with sales and marketing team forany concerns with regards to new projects and samples submitted.
- Create and revise BOM, test procedures, and specifications whenever there are changes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. (Registered Chemist)
- At least 1–3 years of experience in Research and Development (R&D), Product Development, Formulation, Quality Assurance, or Technical Services, preferably in the coatings, paints, adhesives, construction chemicals, or manufacturing industry.
- Experience in product formulation, raw material evaluation, product testing, and process development.
